As a UX designer with over 3 years of experience at government tech SaaS company Granicus, I combine my background in graphic design with strong visual design skills and collaborative research methods to create impactful digital experiences for government users. I thrive in dynamic environments, having successfully led projects across multiple product teams while adapting my process—from comprehensive research to high-fidelity prototyping—based on each project's unique needs and constraints. Currently completing my Master's in Human Computer Interaction, I'm passionate about creating solutions that provide real value to users through creative problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
VIEW MY RESUMEMy journey into UX design began with a foundation in graphic design, where I developed a keen eye for visual aesthetics and communication. During the pandemic, my experience as a COVID-19 contact tracer for New York State unexpectedly honed skills crucial to UX design—conducting interviews, identifying problems, and developing solutions based on real human needs. This combination of visual creativity and human-centered problem-solving drew me to pursue UX design professionally. For over three years, I've been designing government technology solutions at Granicus, where I've grown from an Associate Product Designer to Product Designer I. Simultaneously, I've been advancing my expertise through a Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction from Iowa State University, which I'll complete in May. This academic-professional parallel has allowed me to immediately apply theoretical concepts to real-world projects, accelerating my growth as a designer.
I'm particularly interested in ideation and visual design, and I'm constantly exploring new methodologies and tools to enhance my design process such as integrating AI. When I'm not designing, you can find me painting or exploring new places.
I follow a flexible framework inspired by the double diamond methodology and lean UX principles, tailoring my approach to each project's unique needs and constraints
I conduct research to thoroughly understand the problem space before moving to solution development which is especially helpful for riskier projects
I prioritize cross-functional collaboration throughout the design process, working closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure designs are both innovative and implementable
I place special emphasis on the ideation phase, facilitating exploration of multiple solutions to uncover unexpected approaches that often prove more feasible and user-friendly
I assess each project's scope and risk level to strategically distribute my time across different design phases, focusing resources where they'll have the greatest impact
I balance creative exploration with practical constraints to deliver designs that create delightful user experiences while aligning with business objectives and technical realities
Leading UX design initiatives across multiple product teams, conducting user research, and creating high-fidelity prototypes for government technology solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive and accessible digital experiences for government users.
Advancing expertise in UX methodologies and tools while applying theoretical concepts to real-world projects. Expected graduation: May 2025.
Designed user interfaces for government technology solutions, conducted usability testing, and implemented design improvements based on user feedback. Applied strong visual design skills and collaborative research methods to create impactful digital experiences.
Initially conducted interviews and identified problems as a contact tracer before being promoted to Team Supervisor. This experience developing solutions based on real human needs honed skills crucial to UX design including team leadership, empathy, communication, and problem-solving under constraints.
I'm always open to discussing new projects, creative ideas, or opportunities to be part of your vision.
